Cameo

Cameo is an American video platform that allows for paid, personalized videos for fans, by celebrities. Joshua Block holds an account on Cameo, where his videos have been heavily criticized and mocked by the community for being exceptionally low-effort.

History

The Beginning

Michael Quinn was behind getting Josh to open a Cameo account in mid-May 2023.

Josh opened his Cameo account on May 29, 2023, with his Cameo videos costing $30.99. Josh reportedly made 5 videos in the first hour, totaling to $150 of earnings (before any fees.)

Within the first day, Josh recorded for very questionable scripts, reading scripts about diapers and "porch monkeys". Josh reported making $1000, then $2000, then $2800 from Cameos. He then went on a rant on a Quinn live, angry about the "porch monkey" Cameo, despite the fact that Josh chose to read it out and post it. Later in the night, Josh denied that he even said it, and even blamed Daniel Larson. He also claimed that he would no longer do Cameos, which turned out to be false.

The next day, Josh was already bragging on TikTok Lives that he made "$5000 a FUCKING day". He then raised the prices from $30 to $45, then $50, then $55, then lowered back to $50 all within the span of a couple of hours. In the next few days demand would remain high, with Josh claiming he was "backed up" on Cameos. Josh's TikTok lives continued to involve him bragging about his perceived newfound wealth.

The Decline

By mid-June, the initial surge of fans and trolls purchasing Cameo videos had reportedly dried up, presumably leading to a massive slowdown in revenue, and Josh not bragging about his Cameo earnings anymore. In addition, the quality of the Cameos would begin rapidly declining; as Josh would begin recording the videos while hungover. In multiple examples, Josh either did the absolute bare minimum, or ignored the request, and even posted videos where his face wasn't visible. In some cases, Josh simply ripped off customers, not even saying a word.

Present Day

As of April 2025, Josh's Cameo is still up, and he continues to "fulfill" requests; with an average video length of 11 seconds and a 3.0 star rating, and videos costing $37.
